Why do I make glass beads?

It’s about the colours, infinite possibilities, the challenge, discovering myself in the creative process. It’s the excitement of opening the kiln the next morning and seeing the beads for the first time. Even an ugly bead can unlock another door. That means there’s no such thing as a total failure! I create with glass, interpreting the world around me through my work.

There are inspirations everywhere. It might be nature, or human made, a random pattern, wild flowers, the view from a window, a busy sidewalk, or maybe the fresh fruit at the market.

I work with soft glass, (soda lime). All my beads are kiln annealed.
The majority of my focal beads are one of a kind . My passion is exploring colours.
